Junior Jim Gilbride (Parma, Ohio) opened the scoring for the Blue Devils (14-3-3, 8-2-1), the No. 10 ranked team in NCAA Division III, at 7:53 of the first period. Senior Max Catelin (Grenoble, France) earned an assist. Kuzma scored a power-play goal to give his team a 2-0 lead at 9:36 of the first period. The lone assist was credited to sophomore Brian Kolesar (Broadview Heights, Ohio). Kuzma was credited with his second goal of the night and 11th of the season when a crossing pass by a Plattsburgh defenseman deflected behind his goaltender. The short-handed tally came at 15:08 of the third period. Cazares turned aside 30 shots and improved to 11-3-3 this season. The initial shutout came in his 24th collegiate game over three seasons, the first two at NCAA Division I Michigan Tech. For Plattsburgh (11-11-0, 4-7-0), junior goaltender Craig Nielsen (Markham, Ont.) stopped 21 of 24 shots. Fredonia State plays its final regular-season home game 7 p.m. Saturday against Potsdam.
