Devils fall to St. Clair

WINDSOR, Ont. – Fredonia State's 13-game game streak without a loss drew to a close Friday a 5-3 exhibition game loss to St. Clair College.

Sophomore Matt Zeman (Rocky River, Ohio) had two goals and sophomore Kyle Bozoian (St. Charles, Mo.) scored once for the Blue Devils (12-2-1).

Junior Rick Cazares (San Jose, Calif.) tended the Fredonia State net.

The see-saw affair saw the Saints break a 3-3 tie with 9:31 remaining. Zeman was awarded a penalty shot but was stopped with 7:01 left.

An empty-net goal accounted for the final margin.

"It was an extremely physical game," Fredonia State coach Jeff Meredith told the Dunkirk Observer. "I'm very pleased (because) we played hard (and) we played disciplined."

The two teams meet again 2 p.m. Saturday at the South Windsor Arena.
