Women's Lacrosse

St. John Fisher 8, Fredonia State 5

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Playing their second game in cold, wet conditions in as many days, Fredonia State (1-3) fell victim to the Cardinals of St. John Fisher (4-3) by a score of 8-5 in women's college lacrosse action. Aimee Baxter (East Rochester/East Rochester) had three goals, while Erynn Anderson (Dewitt/C. W. Baker) added two goals and two assists for Fredonia. They were the only Blue Devils to register a point.

Six different players registered goals for Fisher. Jacki Grobsmith (Elbridge/Jordan-Elbridge) and Theresa Nobilski (Rochester/Brighton) each collected a pair of scores. Winning goalie Michelle Bloom (Lafayette/Tully) had five saves for the Cardinals.

The Blue Devils are back in action 4 p.m. Tuesday at Buffalo State.
