Frostburg tops Devils in opener

ORLANDO, Fla. – Fredonia State opened its season with a 12-6 loss to Frostburg State at Orlando, Fla.

Erin Schurr (Hamburg/Hamburg) and Aimee Baxter (East Rochester/East Rocheter) had two goals each for the Blue Devils. Schurr also added an assist.

Sara Potter (Pittsford/Pittsford-Sutherland) and Erynn Anderson (Dewitt/C.W. Barker) had one goal and one assist each for Fredonia State.

Sarah Kretz (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) made five saves in the first half. Kelly McLeod (Hamburg/Frontier) had two saves in the second half.

For Frostburg, which led 8-3 at the half, it was their sixth straight victory against no losses.

The Blue Devils return to action March 30 at Geneseo.
