Fredonia State 15, Potsdam 2

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Fredonia State won its first SUNYAC game of the season Saturday by downing Potsdam, 15-2.

Katelyn Ferry (Lancaster/Lancaster) led the Blue Devils (3-6, 1-3) offensively with six goals. She leads the team with 19 goals this season.

Aimee Baxter (East Rochester/East Rochester) netted three goals while Erynn Anderson (Dewitt/C.W. Barker) had a four-point game with a goal and three assists. She leads the Blue Devils with 29 points in nine games.

Sara Potter (Pittsford/Pittsford Sutherland) and Ashley Fanning (Geneva/DeSales) had one goal and one assist each.

The Blue Devils outshot Potsdam, 28-9. Kelly McLeod (Hamburg/Frontier) started in the Fredonia State net and Sarah Kretz (Tonawanda/Kenmore East) relieved. Kretz was credited with two saves.

Sarah Rosintoski (Black River) and Jennifer Prevost (Watertown) had one goal each for the Bears (3-9, 0-6). Goalkeeper Laura Mooney (Syracuse) made 10 saves.

The Blue Devils travel Monday to RIT before returning home Tuesday to face Brockport (4 p.m.)
