Geneseo nips Blue Devils, 11-10

GENESEO, N.Y. -- Geneseo emerged from a see-saw struggle with an 11-10 SUNYAC win Tuesday over Fredonia State.

In a game which had nine lead changes, Geneseo (4-1, 1-0 SUNYAC) scored the final two goals during a span of four minutes in the second half.

For the Blue Devils (3-2, 0-1 SUNYAC), seven players entered the scoring column. Senior attacker Christie Zaganiaczyk (Lancaster), freshman midfielder Kelsey Lamb (Niskayuna), and sophomore midfielder Katie Monaghan (Fairport) led the way. Zaganiaczyk had two goals and two assists, Lamb three goals, and Monaghan two goals and one assist.

In addition, sophomore defender Emily Reichert (Henrietta/Rush-Henrietta), freshman midfielder Alyssa Przydrozny (Marcellus), and freshman attacker Laura Culhane (Rochester/Gates-Chili) had one goal each, and senior midfielder Stephanie Maderer (Orchard Park) was credited with one assist.

Senior goalkeeper Sarah Wright (Rochester/Irondequoit) was credited with 11 saves. Reichert had six groundballs and two caused turnovers.

The Blue Devils return to action at home Thursday vs. Oberlin. Start time is 4:30 p.m.
