Devils rolls over Oberlin

OBERLIN, Ohio -- Fredonia State rolled to a 20-6 win Thursday over Oberlin College.

The Blue Devils (5-2) roared to a 12-3 lead at halftime and eventually outshot their opponent, 44-13.

Six players had two goals or more. Christine Zaganiaczyk (Lancaster/Lancaster) led the way with four goals, Valerie Snider (Spencerport/Spencerport) had three, and four teammates had two each: Carrie Halstead (Penfield/Webster-Schroeder), Leslie Von Pless (Liverpool/Liverpool), Katie Monaghan (Fairport/Fairport), and Rebecca Erlichman (Pittsford/Pittsford-Mendon).

Halstead added three assists and Brittany McDevitt (Mendon/Honeoye Falls-Lima) had two assists to go along with one goal.

Blue Devil goalkeeper Sarah Wright (Rochester/Irondequoit) made five saves to earn credit for his fifth win this spring.

The Blue Devils take a 1-0 SUNYAC record into their game Saturday vs. Cortland. Game time on the new turf field is 1 p.m.
