Devils even conference mark at Oneonta

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State improved to 7-3 this season -- 2-2 in SUNYAC -- with a 12-8 road win at Oneonta.

The Blue Devils took command with nine unanswered goals, including the last eight of the first half. Senior attacker Leslie Von Pless (Liverpool) scored three consecutive goals during the decisive run. Freshman midfielder Kelsey Lamb (Niskayuna) had two goals and one assist, and senior Christie Zaganiaczyk (Lancaster) had a pair during the rally.

Oneonta scored the game's first goal just 1:01 into the contest. The Blue Devils bounced back with three straight goals to take a 3-1 lead at the 5:21 mark. Freshman midfielder Alyssa Przydrozny (Marcellus) had a goal and an assist.

The Red Dragons scored a pair to even the score back at three apiece before the Blue Devils went on their 9-0 run.

Fredonia State opened the second half with a goal to make the score 12-3 before Oneonta made a push scoring the game's final five goals.

Zaganiaczyk finished with three goals overall while sophomore midfielder Katie Monaghan (Fairport) scored twice and collected three assists. Blue Devil senior goalkeeper Sarah Wright (Rochester/Irondequoit) was credited with 11 saves.

The Blue Devils return to action Tuesday at home against Brockport.
