Goldsworthy sets school record in 19-14 win

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Sophomore attacker Kaleena Goldsworthy (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) set a school record with eight goals Thursday in a 19-14 non-conference win over Oberlin.

Goldsworthy suprassed the previous high of seven goals in a game, a mark held by two former Blue Devils: Kelly Domm vs. Allegheny in 1999, and Claudia Jezioro vs. Gannon in 1998.

Goldsworthy also had one assist and tallied the game-winning goal. Her nine points is second-most in school history.

Sophomore midfielder Nicole VanEtten (Endicott/Union-Endicott) added four goals for the Blue Devils (2-1). Brittany McDevitt (Mendon/Honeoye Falls-Lima) and sophomore attacker Christie Zaganiaczyk (Lancaster/Lancaster) had two goals each.

Fredonia State sophomore goalkeeper Sarah Wright (Rochester/Irondequoit) was credited with seven saves.

The game was the home opener for the Blue Devils, who were 1-1 during a recent Florida trip. They enter into SUNYAC competition Saturday at Oneonta.
