Bengals rally for 9-8 victory

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Fredonia State was unable to protect a four-goal lead and fell to unbeaten Buffalo State, 9-8, in SUNYAC action Tuesday.

Fredonia State freshman Nicole Van Etten (Endicott/Union-Endicott) scored with 3:57 left to forge an 8-8 tie and end a string of five unanswered goals by the Bengals (5-0, 1-0).

Erin Silky scored the game-winning goal with 2:34 remaining.

Rebecca Erlichman (Pittsford/Pittsford Mendon) had three goals for the Blue Devils (4-3, 0-1), while Van Etten had two goals.

The Blue Devils are back in action Friday at Oneonta.
