Devils mine triple-OT win on goal by Goldsworthy

POTSDAM, N.Y. – A triple-overtime goal by Kaleena Goldsworthy (Baldwinsville/C.W. Baker) sent the Blue Devils to a 13-12 win Saturday at SUNY Potsdam.

After taking a pass from Brittney Bennett (Livonia/Livonia), Goldsworthy outmanuevered three Postdam players and shot from close range to send the Blue Devils (6-6, 1-3) to the SUNYAC road victory.

The Blue Devils were leading 10-9 in regulation before Potsdam's Rebecca Kelley scored with 49 seconds left. The Bears (4-8, 1-5) were leading 11-10 until Nicole VanEtten (Endicott/Union-Endicott) scored with 19 seconds left in the first overtime.

Katelyn Ferry (Lancaster/Lancaster) scored for the Blue Devils during the second overtime. Goldsworthy had the only goal of the third OT with 1:33 remaining.

Erynn Anderson (Dewitt/C.W. Baker) led Fredonia State scoring with two goals and two assists. Goldsworthy had three goals. VanEtten and Ferry had two goals each.

Amanda Brandt (Rochester/Spencerport) started in goal and made three saves in the first half. Sarah Wright (Rochester/Irondequoit) started the second half and made six saves in the final 39 minutes to earn the goalie win.

Next game for the Blue Devils is Tue., April 26, at SUNY Brockport.
