Geneseo takes measure of Blue Devils

GENESEO, N.Y. -- A double-double by senior forward Kevin Reichlmayr (Rochester/Aquinas) was not enough to keep Fredonia State from dropping a 67-51 SUNYAC road game at Geneseo.

With 12 points and 12 rebounds, it was Reichlmayr's third double-double in the last four games. In addition, he has scored in double figures in all but the opening game of the season -- a stretch of 12 straight games.

The Blue Devils (2-11, 0-6 SUNYAC) came out strong to take a 15-7 lead on a layup by Reichlmayr at the 10:30 mark of the first half. Geneseo (9-4, 3-1 SUNYAC) fought back to take a 27-22 halftime lead, and quickly opened a double-digit lead early in the second half.

Greg Spears had 14 points while Scott Morton had 12 points, 11 rebounds, and four steals for Geneseo. Senior guard Taha Alassari (Brooklyn/Sweet Home) and junior center Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua/Canandaigua) added nine points to the Fredonia State offense.

The Blue Devils stay in SUNYAC competition over the weekend with a pair of home games -- 8 p.m. Friday vs. Plattsburgh in Steele Hall, and 4 p.m. Saturday vs. Potsdam at Dods Hall.
