Down 37-27 at the break, the Blue Devils (2-12, 0-7 SUNYAC) closed to within seven points in the second half -- for the final time with 2:23 remaining, 62-55, on a three-point basket by senior Taha Alassari (Brooklyn/Sweet Home). The Cardinals put the game out of reach with a 5-0 run on two free throws by Anthony Williams (Brooklyn) and a three-point play by Antwane Miller (Brooklyn). Williams finished with a game-high 29 points, plus five assists, while Khylan Hunt (Saratoga Springs) added 11 points on 5 of 6 shooting. The Cardinals shot 56.3 percent in the game, including 8 of 14 (57.1 percent) on three-point attempts. For Fredonia State, the inside tandem of senior Kevin Reichlmayr (Rochester/Aquinas) and freshman James Kane (West Seneca/Bishop Timon) combined for 17 of 23 shooting. Reichlmayr was 9 of 11 and finished with 21 points, his 13th straight game scoring in double figures. In his most extensive action of the season, Kane played 18 minutes and contributed 16 points off the bench on 8 of 12 shooting. Fredonia State shot 52.8 percent from the field, and was 4 of 7 (57.1 percent) from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils will look for their first conference win Saturday afternoon when they are home vs. Potsdam. The 4 p.m. game will be played in Dods Hall.
