Up 30-14 at halftime, the Blue Devils (7-8, 2-5) saw their entire lead disappear before righting themselves down the stretch. Junior guard Taha Alassari (Brooklyn/Sweet Home) finished with 22 points while senior guards Chris Donahue (Olean/Olean) and Tim Anderson (Jamestown/Jamestown) had 11 points each. Junior guard Jarrad Dumont (Chateaugay) had 15 points and sophomore forward Travis Gorham (Bridgeport, Conn) added 13 for the Cardinals (8-7, 2-5). Plattsburgh scored the first 12 points of the second half as part of a 20-3 run which culminated in a 34-33 lead on a basket by senior Kris Gibbs-Smith (Rochester) with 11:54 to go. Gorham had nine points and six during the Plattsburgh rally. The Cardinals shot 57.7 percent in the second half (15 of 26). Following a 36-36 tie, the Blue Devils took the lead for good on a rebound basket by sophomore forward Adam Smith (Fredonia/Fredonia). Fredonia State's closing run included three three-point baskets -- one each by Alassari, Anderson, and Donahue. Fredonia State is back in SUNYAC action at home Tuesday night against Brockport. Game time is 8 p.m.
