Wildcats top Devils

UTICA, N.Y. -- Taha Alassari (Brooklyn/Sweet Home) scored 19 points connecting on five three-pointers in a losing effort as Fredonia State dropped a conference matchup with SUNYIT 72-56.

SUNYIT jumped out to a quick start and led 34-18 at the half.

Senior forward Kevin Reichlmayr added 17 points and seven rebounds in the losing effort. Junior Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua/Canandaigua) grabbed 11 rebounds to go along with nine points.

Antoine Gilkes of SUNYIT led all scorers with 22 points on 9-12 shooting.

Fredonia State plays tomorrow night at Plattsburgh.
