Plattsburgh defeats Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State suffered a 69-55 road loss at Plattsburgh Saturday evening.

The Blue Devils were paced by senior forward Kevin Reichlmayr (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) with 16 points and seven rebounds. Freshman guard Kevin Saunders (Batavia/Batavia) had 11 points.

There would be eight lead changes or ties in the first half, before Plattsburgh headed into the locker room with a 34-27 lead.

The Cardinals (11-6, 7-3) would maintain the upper hand the entire second half. The Devils pulled as close as three, 46-43, on a Brad Cooper layup with 9:26 remaining. Plattsburgh would eventually go on a 14-2 run beginning with 3:41 left in the game to pull away.

Plattsburgh had three players score in double-figures: Anthony Williams with 19, and Jerrad Dumont and Travis Gorham with 11 each.

The Devils (4-14, 1-9 SUNYAC) welcome Buffalo State to Steele Hall on Tuesday.
