Nationally ranked B-W rolls over Devils

ERIE, Pa. -- Baldwin-Wallace built a large first-half lead and rolled to a 94-76 victory Saturday over Fredonia State in the first round of the Penn State Behrend Invitational.

The Yellowjackets, ranked No. 20 in the D3Hoops.com preseason poll, shot 61.5 percent from the field compared to 51 percent by the Blue Devils (0-1).

Sophomore guard Bradley Cooper (Forestburgh/Monticello) had a season-opening 29 points while junior guard Rich Buckmon (Syracuse/Heninger) had 23 points in his first game as a Blue Devil. Sophomore center-forward James Kane (West Seneca/Bishop Timon) added 13 points.

Baldwin-Wallace had five players in double figures, led by Kyle Brown with 20.

The Blue Devils will play 1 p.m. in the tournament consolation game against either host Penn State Behrend or Bridgewater (Va.) State.
