Devils drop Behrend consolation to Bridgewater

ERIE, Pa. -- Fredonia State lost to Bridgewater (Va.) State, 60-52, in the consolation game of the Penn State Behrend Invitational.

Down 25-20 at halftime and by as many 10 points early in the second half, the Blue Devils (0-2) rallied to within two points, 45-43, on a jumper by sophomore guard Brad Cooper (Forestburgh/Monticello) with 8:27 left, but could get no closer.

Cooper finished with 18 points and three assists; he was chosen to the all-tournament team. Junior guard Wayne Davis (Binghamton) added 10 points and senior center Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua) pulled down 11 rebounds.

The Blue Devils meet D'Youville in the home opener 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Steele Hall Fieldhouse.
