Blue Devils to hold alumni reception during Newark tourney

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Reservations are being taken for Fredonia State men's basketball complimentary reception for alumni and friends following the Blue Devils' season-opening game Nov. 18 vs. Emerson College in the John K. Adams Tip-Off Classic at Rutgers-Newark University.

The reception, co-sponsored by the university Office of Alumni Affairs, will be held in the Essex Room of the Hilton Newark Gateway Hotel at Penn Station, from 8:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.. The hotel is located at Gateway Center - Raymond Blvd., Newark, N.J. 07102.

RSVPs to the reception are encouraged. Alumni who received a reservation form in the mail should return the form no later than Nov. 15. In addition, reservations can be made either by E-mail to Alumni.Office@fredonia.edu or by telephone (716-673-3553).

The Blue Devils will face Emerson at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 18 in the first round of the two-day tournament at the Golden Dome Athletic Arena. Rutgers-Newark and Centennary will meet in the other first-round game. Consolation and championship games are Nov. 19 at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., respectively. Admission at the door is $5.
