Blue Devils rally, fall short

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Cortland turned aside a comeback effort by Fredonia State, 60-57, in SUNYAC men's basketball.

The three-point shot by junior guard Brad Cooper (Monticello) just ahead of the final buzzer glanced off the rim in Fredonia State's final attempt to tie. The game had been tied four times and their were five lead changes earliere in the second half.

Cortland's Mike Lewis (Central Square) showed the way with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Will Coston (Kerhonkson) added 10 points.

Cooper finished with 18 points, including 3 of 6 from beyond the arc, while senior center Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua) and junior guard Wayne Davis (Binghamton) had 11 and 10 points, respectively, for the Blue Devils.
