Foe's fast start to second half dooms Devils

ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Oneonta Red Dragons came out firing at the start of the second half to distance themselves en route a 56-51 SUNYAC home win over Fredonia State.

Up 25-24 at the half, the Red Dragons (3-2, 3-0 SUNYAC) opened the second half with a 14-2 run on the strength of outside shooting of Eric Bratt and the inside play of Kevin Reed.

Bratt hit a pair of three-pointers during the decisive run, while Reed had three baskets off his own offensive rebounds. Bratt finished with 11 points, whle Reed and Ryan Morin added 10.

Senior forward Kevin Reichlmayr (Rochester/Aquinas) led the Blue Devils (1-4, 0-3 SUNYAC) with 21 points on 10 of 16 fieldgoal shooting. He also grabbed eight rebounds to share the team lead with junior center Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua/Canandaigua).

Junior forward Adam Smith (Fredonia/Fredonia) added 13 points for the Blue Devils, who return home to face Pitt-Bradford 7 p.m. Monday at Steele Hall.
