O'Brien leads Fisher past Blue Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia State led 21-14 midway through the first half Tuesday before a barrage of Sean O'Brien three-pointers put St. John Fisher back on track to a non-conference win at Steele Hall.

O'Brien (Orchard Park/Orchard Park) connected on three treys as part of a 30-7 run to close out the first half for the Cardinals (3-1), who led 44-28 at the break. They never trailed in the second half en route to a 76-67 victory.

Senior forward Tim Anderson (Jamestown/Jamestown) had 20 points to lead the Blue Devils (2-5). Senior guard Chris Donahue (Olean/Olean) added 16 points.

O'Brien led the Cardinals with 23 points, plus five assists. Mike McGee (Batavia/Notre Dame) chipped in with 14 points, and Raymie Auman (Angelica/Genesee Valley) added 13.

Junior forward Kevin Reichlmayr (Rocheseter/Aquinas Institute) had seven points to go along with a team-high eight rebounds for Fredonia State.

The Blue Devils are on the road Thursday at Pitt-Bradford.
