The Blue Devils had a chance to knock Cortland (10-15, 6-10 SUNYAC) out of the SUNYAC post-season, but were unable to play the role of spoiler. With the win, Cortland clinched the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament. In a game that was close throughout, Fredonia State led as late as 10:55 into the second half, 52-50. Only five players would figure in the scoring for the Devils, with each of them reaching double digits. Seniors Taha Alassari (Brooklyn/Sweet Home) and Kevin Reichlmayr (Rochester/Aquinas Institute) had 17 apiece. Brad Cooper (Forestburgh/Monticello) and Adam Smith (Fredonia/Fredonia) had 14 each. Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua/Canandaigua) finished with 11 markers. Cortland was led by Dave Maggiocomo with 18 off the bench. As a team, the Red Dragons connected for 14 three-pointers in 28 attempts. Fredonia State finishes the season at 6-18 overall and, 3-13 in the SUNYAC.
