The Blue Devils (9-16, 6-10 SUNYAC) also received the help they needed to qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament. Oswego's 92-67 win over Buffalo State means Fredonia State earned the fourth playoff seed from the West Division. The Blue Devils will travel to No. 1 seed Plattsburgh for a first-round game Tuesday. Trailing 35-34 at halftime to Morrisville State, the Blue Devils brought the Steele Hall faithful out of their feet several times in the second half. They blistered the nets in the second half -- 17 of 25 (68 percent) -- and shot 55.8 percent in the game. The Blue Devils were 11 of 24 three-point attempts, including 4 of 6 by junior Brad Cooper (Monticello), who finished with a team-high 18 points. Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua), one of three seniors making their final Steele Hall appearance, added 17 points on 7 of 9 shooting, including a three-point basket which earned one of the loudest cheers of the night. It was his first attempt from beyond the arc this season. For the visiting Mustangs (5-19, 2-14 SUNYAC), Wesley Jackson (Utica/Proctor) had 14 points, Terrell Armstead (Flushing/Martin VanBuren) had 12, and Joe McCants (Bronx/Harry S. Truman) collected 11 points and grabbed nine rebounds. In addition to Gordon, the other Blue Devils seniors in their final home game were Matt Moore (Fredonia) and Adam Smith (Fredonia).
