Balanced Devils topple Medaille

BUFFALO, N.Y. – Four players scored in double figures Tuesday as Fredonia State defeated Medaille, 76-69, in a non-conference road game.

Freshman Kyle Gordon (Canandaigua/Canandaigua) and sophomore Taha Alassari (Amherst/Sweet Home) had 14 points each, junior Mike Kelly (Corning/Corning East) added 12, and junior Tim Anderson (Jamestown/Jamestown) had 10 points.

The win moved the Blue Devils over the .500 mark at 6-5 while the Mavericks fell to 0-10.

Gordon connected on 7 of 8 shots for the Blue Devils. He was 9 of 9 vs. Thiel on Jan. 8.

Anderson led the Blue Devils with five assists while junior Chris Kensy (Cheektowaga/Maryvale) had three steals.

Fredonia State has never lost to Medaille in eight meetings between the teams.

The Blue Devils return to SUNYAC competition -- where they are 2-1 -- Friday at Oswego and Saturday at Cortland.
