Brockport rolls over Blue Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Brockport junior Ben Bellucci (Syracuse/Cicero North Syracuse) had 36 points in a 90-71 SUNYAC road win over Fredonia State.

Bellucci hit on 14 of 19 shots from the field, including 4 of 5 from beyond the arc, while three teammates had 10 points each for the Golden Eagles (3-1, 1-0).

Junior Randall Thomas (Bronx/Ryan Academy, Va.) led the Blue Devils (1-3, 0-1) with 16 points on 8 of 11 shooting. Sophomore Taha Alassari (Amherst/Sweet Home) collected 15 points and nine assists. Juniors Nate Sanzo (Westfield/Westfield) and Chris Donahue (Olean/Olean) added 11 points each.

The Blue Devils outrebounded the Golden Eagles 41-36 with freshman Steve Galatio (Hilton/Hilton) grabbing a team-high seven boards. On the downside, the Blue Devils were guilty of 32 turnovers.

Brockport led at halftime, 42-35.

The Blue Devils are back in action 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at home against New Paltz.
