Alassari has career night vs. New Paltz

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Sophomore Taha Alassari (Amherst/Sweet Home) scored 36 points Friday to lead the Blue Devils (2-3, 1-1) to a 95-77 SUNYAC win over New Paltz.

Alassari was 12 of 13 from the field, including 3 of 3 from three-point range. He also connected on 9 of 13 from the line and had team highs in rebounds (11) and assists (4).

Junion Tim Anderson (Jamestown/Jamestown) chipped in with 15 points and eight rebounds. Junior Nate Sanzo (Westfield/Westfield) added 12 points and eight rebounds.

For the Hawks (3-3, 1-1), sophomore John Hauser (East Williston) led in scoring with 25 points. Sophomore Stephon Cherry (Bronx) added 18 and junior Keith Crichlow (Central Islip) had 15.

The Blue Devils were 37 of 69 from the field, including 20 of 33 (60.6 percent) in the first half.
