The shutout was a school-record ninth straight by the Blue Devils (10-1-1, 4-0-0 SUNYAC). Junior forward Matt Mahaffey (Lakeview/Frontier) and senior defender Bryon Thoin (Buffalo/St. Joe's) scored the Fredonia State goals during a span of four minutes in the first half. Mahaffey scored his team-leading fifth goal of the season at 33:45, assisted by sophomore defender Matt Smith (Lockport/Lockport). The Blue Devils took a 2-0 lead on Thoin's second goal of the season, an unassisted tally at 37:22. Senior goalkeeper Matt Borchard (Williamsville/Williamsville South) needed two saves for his ninth shutout of the season.
