Devils fall at Brockport, finish second

BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- A 2-0 loss Saturday to Brockport left the Blue Devils tied for second in the final SUNYAC regular-season standings.

The Blue Devils (10-6-1, 7-2-0 SUNYAC) finished tied with Plattsburgh, but earned the No. 2 conference tournament seed, by virtue of a 2-0 victory over the Cardinals on Sept. 15.

Brockport moved up to fourth in the conference standings with the win. The Golden Eagles (8-5-3, 5-1-3 SUNYAC) scored a goal in each half and used a pair of goalkeepers to post the shutout.

Fredonia State had a 15-11 advantage in shots.

The Blue Devils are scheduled to close out their regular season Oct. 28 at home against Hobart. They will then draw a first-round bye and play in the SUNYAC Tournament semifinals Nov. 3 at Oneonta.
