Blue Devils crack into regional poll

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's soccer team is ranked No. 9 in the latest NCAA Division III Northeast poll.

Winners of four straight and seven of their last eight matches, the Blue Devils (8-5-0) received eight points from poll voters. It is the first time this season the Blue Devils have been ranked.

In addition, Fredonia State is the second highest ranked team among SUNYAC schools. The Blue Devils' next opponent, the Plattsburgh Cardinals, are No. 5 with 30 votes. The Blue Devils and Cardinals meet 6 p.m. Friday in Plattsburgh.

In addition, SUNYAC schools Buffalo State and Cortland are tied for No. 10 with four points each. Union College is the poll leader with 50 votes.

The poll is distributed by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
