After 71:38 of a scoreless tie, junior Matt Mahaffey (Lakeview/Frontier) scored the first goal -- a header off a Vincent Alfieri (Rochester/McQuaid) pass -- to put the Blue Devils up 1-0. Nathan Goss (N. Tonawanda/Niagara Wheatfield) sealed the win with his first goal of the season with 2:30 remaining in the game. Alfieri garnered his second assist of the afternoon. Matt Borchard (Williamsville/Williamsville) made three saves as he collected his sixth shutout of the season for the Blue Devils. New Paltz goalkeeper Masanori Hotta (Kawinishi, Japan) was credited with eight saves. The Blue Devils (6-1-1, 2-0-0 SUNYAC) had a 19-10 advantage in shots over the Hawks (3-5-0, 0-2-0).
