Nazareth topples Blue Devils, 4-2

ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- Four unanswered goals in the first half carried Nazareth College over Fredonia State, 4-2.

After junior forward Rob Esposito (Dover Plains/Dover) scored on a direct kick in the ninth minute, the Golden Flyers (7-2) gained command with four goals over the next 32 minutes.

Freshman forward Steve Tamtakiridis (Toronto, Ont./East York Collegiate) had the lone goal of the second half, his fourth of the season, with 2:34 remaining. Junior forward Trevor Ianni (Rochester/Gates Chili) picked up an assist.

Junior goalkeeper Scott Bergen (Schnectady/Mohonasen) made four saves for the Blue Devils (5-4-1), who came into the game on a four-game unbeaten streak. They return to SUNYAC competition with road games Friday at SUNYIT and Saturday at New Paltz.
