It was the second straight game-winning goal for Cupello and the second straight shutout --- and ninth of the season --- for junior goalkeeper Matt Borchard (Williamsville/Williamsville South). Borchard made eight saves and with two shutouts this season will improve upon his 0.39 goals-against average. He was fifth in the nation in the category at the start of the week. Freshman Trevor Ianni (Rochester/Gates Chili) was credited with an assist on the Fredonia State scoring play, which began as a corner kick by junior Michael Mace (Elmira/Notre Dame). It was the eighth corner kick by the Blue Devils (9-5-3). RIT had 13 corner-kick chances. The Tigers (6-7-1) outshot the Blue Devils, 20-15. RIT goalkeeper Nate Andrews (Rochester/Greece Arcadia) made four saves. Fredonia State meets Hobart at noon Oct. 30 in the final regular-season game of the Blue Devil season.
