Peterson, Rumsey lead Devils past Buffalo State

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's swimming and diving team defeated visiting Buffalo State 122-102 for the first time since the rebirth of the program four years ago.

Nathan Peterson (Frewsburg/Frewsburg) was a triple winner -- he finished first in the 1,000, 200 and 500 meter freestyles. His efforts in the 1,000 and 200 were in back-to-back events.

Rob Rumsey (Grand Island/GrandIsland ) was a double-winner for the Devils. He claimed the 200 IM and 100 freestyle.

"It was a total team effort," said head coach Arthur Wang. "I am quite pleased with the teams' performance after an intense training camp in Florida."

The women's team also claimed victory, 144-99.
