SUNYAC qualifiers at Early Open

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Three Blue Devil men recorded SUNYAC qualifying performances Saturday at the Fredonia State Early Open inside Steele Hall.

Junior Jerome Evans (Rochester/Greece Olympia) won the 500-meter dash in SUNYAC qualifying time of 1:10.47.

Junior Robert Larsen (Allegany/Allegany-Limestone) finished third in the men's weight throw with a toss of 43 feet, 11 1/4 inches -- also a SUNYAC qualifying performance.

The third SUNYAC qualifier was freshman Drew Waldron (Freedom/Pioneer) in the long jump. He finished fourth in the event with a jump of 20 feet, 5 inches.

Freshman Michael Pond (Somers/Somers) provided another Blue Devil highlight. He won the 1,000-meter run with a personal-best 2:49.09.
