The Blue Devils' top five consisted of two freshmen followed by three sophomores. High school teammates Tom Williams and Jared Newell, freshmen from Queensbury, N.Y., led the way for the team over the 8-kilometer Squire Valley View Farm men's course. Williams was 24th in 27:46.30, while Newell was 32nd in 27:30.50. They were followed by the sophomore trio of Chris Walters (Tonawanda/Sweet Home), Matthew Wysocki (Clifton Park/Shenendehowa), and Joe Vella (Hamburg/Hamburg). The ninth-place finish included an average time of 29:07.64 by the first five Blue Devils across the line. Several veteran runners were held out of the race, including returning No. 1 runner Andy Forma.
