Blue Devil soccer teams ECAC bound

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Both Fredonia State soccer teams have been selected to play in ECAC Division III Upstate New York post-season tournaments.

The women's soccer team (10-8-1) is seeded No. 3 of six teams and will meet No. 6 seed St. John Fisher (7-7-2) at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The game will be played at St. John Fisher due to wet grounds at the Fredonia State playing site.

The Fredonia State at Fisher winner will meet No. 2 seed William Smith 11 a.m. Saturday at Skidmore College, the host of the semifinal and championship rounds. In the other semifinal, Skidmore will meet the winner of the Vassar at Utica quarterfinal game. The championship game is 1 p.m. Sunday.

On the men's side, a four-team bracket format has No. 2 Fredonia State (11-7-1) vs. No. 3 Union College (9-5-3) at 2 p.m. Saturday at Red Dragon Field on the campus of SUNY Oneonta. In the 11 a.m. semifinal Saturday, No. 4 Oswego meets No. 1 Oneonta, with the two semfinal winners slated to pair off Sunday at 1 p.m.
