Men's soccer coach P.J. Gondek served as one of the Western coaches while women's soccer coaches Chris Case and Kyle Marvin participated as players. Case, the women's head coach in soccer and lacrosse and a former Blue Devil player, was the winning keeper over Adirondack (5-0), Central (4-1 in shootout), and Long Island (9-0) before leaving the third game with a hamstring injury. He did not play in the gold medal game July 31. In the 4-1 win July 29 over Central, Case stopped three shots during the shootout -- among them, an attempt by former Fredonia State teammate Nate Zinteck. Marvin, also a Fredonia State grad and current women's assistant coach, was credited with two assists in the 9-0 win July 30 over Long Island. He was a Western midfielder. Linsay Kulas (Rochester/Aquinas Institute), a Fredonia State sophomore forward, was a member of Western's silver medal team in the women's open division.
