The win was her 25th as a Blue Devil (she's 25-20 overall), one more than previous school-record holder Stephanie Saviola. Mazurek also surpassed Saviola in the career innings category, 303 to 298, and moved closer to passing her on the career strikeouts list. Mazurek has fanned 288 batters -- five in the win over MIT -- while Saviola fanned 299 batters in her collegiate career. The Blue Devils (2-4) later lost to Gustavus Adolphus, 5-1, during the Gene Cusic Collegiate Classic. Against MIT, a lead-off walk to freshman Sarah Kiehl (Lancaster/Depew) set the stage for a two-run first inning by the Blue Devils. Kiehl stole second and scored on a two-out single by senior Ashley Livermore (Randolph/Randolph). Mazurek then helped her own cause with an RBI double. Against Gustavus Adolphus, the Blue Devils managed just three hits, including an RBI single by junior Lindsey Drum (Wayland/Wayland-Cohochton). She's batting .421 (8 of 19) in eight Florida games. Senior Ashley Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore) was the losing pitcher. The Blue Devils returned to action Tuesday against D'Youville (9 a.m.) and DePauw (1 p.m.).
