The Blue Devils (5-7, 2-0 SUNYAC) also took advantage of 11 errors by the Wildcats (1-11, 0-4 SUNYAC) in the two games, the first two at home this season. The day was overcast, blustery, with temperatures in the low-40s. Junior starter Casey Mazurek (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) pitched five hitless, scoreless inning in the first game of two. She struck out 12 of a possible 15 outs. In relief, freshman Sarah Burt (Cuba/Cuba-Rushford) allowed the only SUNYIT hit -- a single by Rebecca Frederick (East Nassua) leading off the seventh inning. The Blue Devils broke the game open with a six-run fourth inning. The biggest hit of the inning was a two-run triple by freshman Tonja Royce (Forestville/Forestville). She and junior Lindsey Drum (Wayland/Wayland-Cohocton) had two hits each in the game. Senior right-hander Ashley Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore) threw a complete-game five-hitter in the nightcap. Senior Ashley Livermore (Randolph/Randolph) had a two-run double while freshman Meghan Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore) doubled and singled. The Blue Devils are back in SUNYAC action Tuesday at Geneseo.
