Fisher deals two losses to Devils

PITTSFORD, N.Y. -- Fredonia State's losing streak ran to eight straight with 4-0 and 11-2 non-conference losses Tuesday at St. John Fisher.

The Blue Devils (7-21) were shutout for the second stright game in the opener. A first-inning single by losing pitcher Casey Mazurek (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) accounted for the only Fredonia State hit.

Mazurek struck out five and yielded three unearned runs.

In the nightcap, Mazurek doubled to start the fourth-inning rally which accounted for all the Fredonia State scoring. Meghan Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore) followed with an RBI single. Sullivan scored on a double by Ashley Livermore (Randolph/Randolph).

Ashley Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore) was the losing pitcher.

The Blue Devils have road doubleheaders Friday at Plattsburgh and Saturday at Potsdam.
