The Blue Devils (8-22) led 1-0 in each game, but each lead was shortlived, due in part to the Saxons ability to hit Devil pitching. Andrea Devon (Elmira/Notre Dame) was tagged with the loss in the first game, while Christina Reale (Geneva) was on the losing end of Game 2. Offensively, the Blue Devils were led by Devon and Jessica Thompson. They each had three hits in the doubleheader -- two each in the first game -- and figured in the scoring. Thompson singled with two outs in the first inning of the first game and scored when Devon doubled. In Game 2, Thompson and Devon led off the game with back-to-back singles. The Blue Devils loaded the bases with no outs but pushed across only one run -- an RBI single by Amy Coniglio (Dunkirk) sending Thompson home. The other Blue Devil threats were the result of two-out triples -- by Samantha Voncina (Angola/Lake Shore) in the third inning, and by Brittany Connell (Geneva) in the fourth. Neither player scored. The doubleheader ended a stretch of eight games over four days. The Blue Devils are idle until Friday when they visit SUNYIT for a SUNYAC doubleheader, followed by a doubleheader Saturday at the University of Rochester, and a doubleheader Sunday at Morrisville State to close out the season. -------
