Geneseo rolls twice over Devils

GENESEO, N.Y. -- Geneseo moved to 6-0 in the SUNYAC with 11-3 and 8-0 victories Tuesday over Fredonia State.

The Blue Devils (5-9, 2-2 SUNYAC) took a 3-0 lead in the first game on singles by Ashley Livermore (Randolph/Randolph), Ashley Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore) and Brittany Connell (Geneva/Geneva), a throwing error, and a two-run double by Meghan Sullivan (Derby/Lake Shore).

Geneseo (11-5, 6-0 SUNYAC) scored three runs in the bottom of the second, and two more in the third to take the lead for good. Casey Mazurek (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) was tagged with the loss.

Connell was 3 for 3 to lead the Fredonia State attack.

In the nightcap, the Blue Devils managed two hits -- singles by Livermore and Staci Weidert ( Hilton/Hilton) -- while Ashley Sullivan was the losing pitcher.

Next up for the Blue Devils in a non-conference doubleheader Thursday at Alfred University.
