With two outs in the sixth inning, Oneonta's Danielle Litz cracked a solo homer to cut her team's deficit to 3-2. Before the inning was over, the Red Dragons plated the tying run, then tacked on three runs in the first extra inning for a come-from-behind 6-3 win. Oneonta held serve in the second game for a 5-2 victory and a sweep of the twinbill. The losses dropped the Blue Devils to 5-9 overall and 0-4 in the conference heading into a home doubleheader Sunday against New Paltz starting at 11 a.m. Sophomore righthander Andrea Devon (Elmira/Notre Dame) was saddled with the loss in the first game. Four of the six runs she allowed were earned. Oneonta's Rebecca Burkart was the winning pitcher. She walked one, struck out seven, and pitched out of a jam in the last of the seventh inning to send the game into extra innings. Fredonia State's Kristy Sheridan (Buffalo/Mount Mercy) was 3 for 3 in the first game, including two doubles and an RBI. Brittany Connell (Geneva) singled twice while Amy Coniglio (Dunkirk) had an RBI double and Devon a sacrifice fly. Litz had three hits and three RBI for Oneonta. Her two-run single in the top of the eighth was the key hit of a three-run inning. In the second game, Oneonta broke a 2-2 tie with a run in the top of the fifth on an RBI single by Bethany Truax and added two insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Truax also homered in the game, as did Kristin Truax, while Shana Hicks scattered four hits to earn the complete-game win for the Red Dragons. Cristina Reale (Geneva) went the distance and took the loss for the Blue Devils. Back-to-back RBI singles by Samantha Voncina (Angola/Lake Shore) and Devon in the third inning accounted for both Fredonia State runs. -------
