Fredonia state claimed the split by winning the nightcap 6-0. Casey Mazurek shut down the New Paltz hitters striking out eleven batters and allowing three hits. Tonja Royce led the Fredonia State hitters with three hits, including a double. Casey Mazurek, Meghan Sullivan and Jen Huntress-Leach each added two hits and an RBI apiece. In game one the Blue Devils (6-12, 3-5 SUNYAC) were down 1-0 going into the fifth inning when the Hawks scored seven times, increasing their lead to 8-0. Fredonia State started a rallied for three runs off an Amanda Colburn homerun in the bottom half of the fifth. Meghan Sullivan led off the sixth with a homerun to give the 8-4 final. The Blue Devils are next in action at Brockport on Tuesday, April 11th in a conference double-header. Gametime is at 3:00p.m.
