![]() Sports Information Department – 112 Dods Hall CONTACT: Jerry Reilly, FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASESoftballSenior, freshman chosen All SUNYACFREDONIA, N.Y. -- Senior pitcher-infielder Casey Mazurek (Dunkirk) and freshman center fielder Samantha Voncina (Derby/Lake Shore) had been selected to the 2007 SUNYAC Softball All-Conference team. Mazurek was selected as a pitcher after posting a 2007 record of 8-10 with a 2.23 earned run average. She struck out 141 batters in 110 innings. Over four seasons with the Blue Devils, Mazurek set numerous team records, including career marks for most wins (38), most strikeouts (506), and most innings pitched (522). In addition, her career earned run average (1.98) is second lowest in program history. She made the 2004 all-conference team as a freshman. Voncina batted a team-high .323 in her first collegiate season. She was the team's leading run-producer with 23 runs scored and 19 RBI, including eight homers, a single-season school record. The Blue Devils hit a school-record 18 homers as a team. Voncina also had team-highs in stolen bases (8 in 10 attempts) and doubles (8)
