Games vs. Potsdam, Plattsburgh moved to SUNYIT

FREDONIA, N.Y. – Fredonia State’s drive for a SUNYAC playoff berth will travel through Utica.

A doubleheader against Potsdam, previously scheduled for Sat., April 23 in Fredonia, has been moved to Sunday, May 1, to the Utica campus of SUNYIT. The first game is tentatively scheduled to start at 11 a.m.

Following the doubleheader vs. Potsdam (6-16, 2-10), the Blue Devils (13-17, 7-8) and Plattsburgh (17-14, 7-4) will resume a game suspended Fri., April 22 because of rain. The game will be picked up in the top of third inning with a 0-0 score and the Blue Devils batting.

The squeeze to finish the SUNYAC season and cut down on travel for the teams involved will also include a doubleheader between Plattsburgh and Buffalo State (24-8, 9-7) Sunday at SUNYIT.

Meanwhile, the Blue Devils will entertain Buffalo State in an important SUNYAC doubleheader Wednesday afternoon. The first game is scheduled for 3 p.m.

The top six teams qualify for the SUNYAC Tournament, which will be played May 5-7 at the home field of the No. 1 seed. The Blue Devils are in eighth place – with plenty still to be decided this week and weekend.

The Blue Devils have a non-conference doubleheader today (April 26) at home vs. the University of Rochester.
