Blue Devils, Bengals split doubleheader

Buffalo, N.Y. – After dropping the conference opener 6-0, the Blue Devils bounced back to take a 2-0 win and earn a split in the nightcap at Buffalo State. Casey Mazurek (3-1) scattered four hits while striking out six to earn the win for Fredonia. Heather Mercer had the lone RBI for the Blue Devils.

The Bengal's Liz Beiter (5-0) earned the shuout in the opener, allowing only two hits, both by Mazurek. Ashley Sullivan (2-3) took the loss, allowing 11 hits and six runs.

Fredonia State is now 7-5 on the season, while Buffalo State stands at 6-6. Both teams are 1-1 in the conference.
