Casey Mazurek (Dunkirk/Dunkirk) struck out four in 1 2/3 innings of relief to earn her second win of the day. She tossed a complete-game two-hitter with three strikeouts for a 7-0 victory in the first game. Mazurek improved to 9-3 on the season while the Blue Devils (17-9, 8-4) extended their season-long winning streak to five games. The Blue Devils started their game-winning rally after two were out. Heather Mercer (Horseheads/Horseheads) drew a walk and Jennifer Grabowski (West Seneca/West Seneca West) singled to set the stage for Sullivan. Her doubled split the gap in left-center field and both runners scored. Mercer, Grabowski, Sullivan and Kim Menth (Tonawanda/Tonawanda) had two hits each. Aimee Hammill (Lewiston/Niagara Catholic) allowed two hits and two runs (one unearned) over 6 1/3 innings before giving way to Mazurek. For the Lakers (4-18, 0-8), Willow Eyres (Red Creek) had an RBI single and losing pitcher Carolyn Agle (Eden/Eden) doubled. In the first game, Andrea Carlson (Forestville/Pine Valley) had two hits and two RBI for the Blue Devils. Mercer had an RBI triple among her two hits. The Blue Devils continue their string of four doubleheaders in four days Saturday afternoon against Cortland State. The Red Dragons (25-3, 12-3) are ranked No. 7 in NCAA Division III.
