ONEONTA, N.Y. -- Both the women's and men's swim teams came away with a victory and a loss Saturday evening. The women defeated Oneonta 192-108, while falling to Hartwick, 172-128.
The men were also victorious over Oneonta, winning 191-106. They suffered a 170-124 setback vs. Hartwick.
Cassie Austin (Cuba/Cuba-Rushford) was a double winner for the Devils, setting a school record in the 50 freestyle (25.48) and winning the 100 free in a time of 56.40.
Emily Dizer (Tonawanda/Sweet Home) finished second in the 200 yard backstroke, but did set a school record, finishing in a time of 2:16.81. Taylor Kelly (Wading River/Shoreham-Wading River) won the 100 breast stroke in a time of 1:12.82. Kelly Sponholz (Alden/Alden) was victorious in both the 1M and 3M diving events.
The men also had success in the diving, as Scott Horsington (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) captured both events.
Noor El-Tahawy (Port Washington/Schreiber) claimed wins in the 100 butterfly (54.74) and 200 butterfly (1:59.15).
Michael Seay (Grand Island/Grand Island) took the 200 breast stroke (2:21.78) and the 100 freestyle (49.62).
